Rules and Regulations:
NOTE: Fair and are under the control of The Delta Fair Rose Show Committee. Entries shall not be removed until 9:00 p.m., Saturday. (Last day of the Fair).
Exhibitors MUST use containers furnished by the Delta Fair except for collections of roses and miniatures.
Ribbons will be awarded for:
Best of Show, 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and 4th Place or Honorable Mention.
The Delta Fair Board, its officers and committees, shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to property or person regardless of cause. American Rose Society guidelines for Judging will be used. The Decision of the judges will be final.
NOTE CHANGE:

Entries will be accepted: Thursday, September 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Judging will be from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Rose Show will be open to the Public on Tuesday, September 28 at 6 p.m. until Saturday, October 2 at 9 p.m. This is an alphabetical show. All classes will be shown alphabetically. The standard rules and regulations of the Delta Fair Board govern this show.
The American Legion Building will be open on Thursday for entries from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Judging will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

All blooms MUST have been grown by the exhibitor. In each class, roses will be entered in lots alphabetically by their registered or patented names. Names of roses can be found on metal tags attached to the bush or plastic strips and or packaging found on the bush at the time they were acquired. Every effort will be made to help exhibitors identify their roses. All roses entered for exhibition become the property of the Delta Fair and are under the control of the Delta Fair Rose Show Committee. Entries shall not be removed until 9:00 p.m., Saturday (last day of the Fair).

SPECIMEN SCALE OF POINTS:
Form — 25 points
Color — 20 points
Substance — 15 points Stem and Foliage — 20 points
Balance and Proportion — 10 points
Size — 10 points
TOTAL = 100 POINTS
In each class, all roses will be entered alphabetically by registered or patented name. An exhibitor may enter
ONLY One (1) of each named variety in a lot.

PREMIUMS:
First Place – $10
Second Place – $8
Third Place – $6
Fourth Place – $3
Best of Show – $25
A SPECIAL Delta Fair Rosette will be awarded to the rose specimen judged Best of Show.

    Lot 1 – 1 to a stem
    Lot 2 – Spray
  • Class 2: FLORIBUNDAS
    Lot 1 – 1 to a stem
    Lot 2 – Spray
  • Class 3: CLIMBERS
    Lot 1 – 1 to a stem
    Lot 2 – Spray

 

  • Class 4: SHRUBS
    Refer to American Rose Society’s Handbook for Selecting Roses
  • Class 5: OLD GARDEN ROSES
    Any type of Rose that existed prior to 1867
  • Class 6: POLYANTHUS
  • Class 7: MINIATURE ROSES
    Lot 1 – 1 to a stem
    Lot 2 – Spray
  • Class 8: COLLECTIONS
    A group of 5 to 9 roses of different varieties in one container, to be furnished by the exhibitor.
    Lot 1 – Hybrid tea and/or Grandifloras
    Lot 2 – Miniatures (3 to 5) different colors
  • Class 9: THE FULLY OPEN ROSE
    Lot 1 – Hybrid Tea or Grandiflora (one blossom, no side buds, with stem length proportionate to the bloom.)
    Lot 2 – Floribunda (one or more fully open blossoms, may have side buds.)
