OPEN CLASS FOOD EXHIBIT — BAKED FOODS and CANDY

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

ATTENTION: All entries must be picked up Saturday between 9 p.m. & 10 p.m.

1) Entries are open to everyone in the Kennett trade area.

2) All entries must be the work of the exhibitor.

3) All entries must be turned in on the Monday before the Fair between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and remain until

9 p.m. on Saturday. The Delta Fair Board, Inc. wil not assume responsibility for unclaimed articles after 11 p.m. Saturday.

4) There will be no entry fee.

5) Prizes and ribbons will be given only on classes listed in the following schedule.  Only one 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in each lot.

6) Only one entry per person in each lot number.

7) All entries must be identified with a label inside giving name and address of exhibitor, and name of article (whether rolled cookies, pound cake, carrot cake, etc.).

8) Heavy paper plates to exhibit food entries will be furnished.

9) Baked goods which have been frozen will be accepted.

10) Recipe must accompany entry.

11)  Prizes will be awarded as follows for each lot number:

Ribbons for Honorable Mention will be given at the discretion of the judges.

12) A Grand Prize will be awarded in this department. The recipe for the Grand Prize winner will also be published in a local paper. A Grand Prize will also be given in Junior Food Division.

 

Section A - SENIOR DIVISION

 

Class 1 - Cakes (one-third cake)

Lot 1 - Angel Food (Not Iced)

Lot 2 - Chocolate

Lot 3 - White Cake

Lot 4 - Chiffon Cake

Lot 5 - Sour Cream or Pound Cake

Lot 6 - Gingerbread

Lot 7 - Cake containing fruits or nuts (jam, carrots, oatmeal, etc.)

Lot 8 - Decorated Cakes

Lot 9 - Decorated Cup Cakes (6 or more)

 

CLASS 2 - YEAST BREAD (one-third or one-half loaf)

Lot 1 - White Bread

Lot 2 - Whole Grain Bread

Lot 3 - Coffee Cake Sweet Rolls or Stolen

Lot 4 - Plain Rolls (5)

Lot 5 - Bread seasoned with herbs (as onion, dill, caraway, etc.)

Lot 6 - Bread with fruits or nuts

Lot 7 - Sourdough Bread

 

CLASS 3 - QUICK BREAD (no yeast; one-third or one-half loaf)

Lot 1 - Biscuits (5)

Lot 2 - Muffins (5)

Lot 3 - Cornbread, Sticks or Muffins

Lot 4 - Cheese Biscuits

Lot 5 - Bread with fruits or nuts (dates, raisins, bananas, orange, cranberry, etc.)

Lot 6 - Mexican or jalapeno Corn read
